This one-day workshop is designed to offer an opportunity to work with one’s patriarchal wound and its effect on the repression process in humans. Patriarchal systems overvalue the masculine style of consciousness. Patriarchy has become a defense mechanism for all of us, used to avoid the vulnerability that is required for deep connection, even with ourselves (Carol Gilligan, 2018). Western culture favors patriarchal values -productivity, goal orientation, ambition, intellectual excellence, and spiritual perfection at the cost to one’s soul (Marion Woodman, 1982). This workshop offers the opportunity to explore and work with one’s patriarchal wound in a safe container.
This workshop will use art process to explore personal and archetypal imagery regarding their patriarchal wound. Each group member will create an individual piece of art and reflect on conscious and unconscious associations of member’s patriarchal wound. Discussion will also be around the wound’s effect on relationships and self. Sharing your artwork, giving, and receiving feedback in a large group process will complete this one-day workshop.
The cost of the workshop is $100.00 plus $15.00 material fee. To sign up for this group or for further questions, please contact Heidi at the Center for Transpersonal Therapy at 596-0147 ext. 42.
